Virus, Malware & Ransomware
Without proper protection, your devices can become infected with all kinds of viruses, malware and even ransomware. If your device has become infected, the first thing is not to panic, often viruses make claims that they will destroy your computer and your files. While this is possible, it is very rare and so the best thing to do is to turn off your computer and get in touch.
If your computer is infected with ransomware, this can be the most scary of all the viruses as they can claim to have taken images of you using your webcam and they will ask for you to pay a ransom to get control back over your computer. They often ask for you to pay this ransom using Bitcoin, as this is untraceable, whatever you do, don’t pay!!

The worst case scenario is that the virus cannot be removed without resetting your machine back to it’s factory settings. This is a last resort, we always prefer to remove them if possible. If we do need to reset your machine, we will rescue your files first, things like images and documents will be safe as long as you turn off your machine and do not continue to try and use it. If you do ignore it hoping it will go away, it is possible for viruses to delete files.
The cost for virus removal really depends on the severity of the virus and how deeply infected the machine is. We would probably need to see your machine in order to quote for virus, malware or ransomware removal.
